What Data We Collect

DiscountLock collects and stores the following data when you install and use the app:

• Shop domain — your Shopify store URL (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com)
• Discount configuration — titles, discount percentages, maximum cap amounts, active dates, usage limits, and scheduling information for discounts you create through the app
• Eligibility settings — customer segment GIDs and individual customer GIDs when you configure discount eligibility targeting
• Session data — authentication tokens required for the app to communicate with your Shopify store

Why We Collect This Data

All data is collected solely to provide the discount capping functionality within your Shopify store. We use your shop domain to scope data per-store, discount configuration to create and manage your capped discounts, and eligibility data to apply discounts to the correct customers.

How Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Fly.io infrastructure. Access is restricted by Shopify OAuth authentication — only authenticated users from your Shopify store can access your store's data. All data is scoped per-shop, meaning each store can only access its own data.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your Shopify store. When you uninstall DiscountLock, all data is automatically and permanently deleted, including discount configurations, shop records, and session data. This deletion is handled through Shopify's mandatory webhook system and cannot be undone.

Third Parties

We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third parties. Your data is used exclusively for providing the DiscountLock service within your Shopify store.

GDPR Rights

DiscountLock fully supports GDPR compliance through Shopify's mandatory webhook system:

• Data export requests — when Shopify sends a customer data request, we identify and report any stored customer data
• Data deletion requests — when Shopify sends a customer redaction request, we automatically remove the customer's data from all discount eligibility records
• Shop data deletion — when you uninstall the app or Shopify sends a shop redaction request, all data associated with your store is permanently deleted
